About Educational Therapy

"An educational therapist is a professional who combines educational and therapeutic approaches for evaluation, remediation, case management, and communication/advocacy on behalf of children, adolescents and adults with learning disabilities or learning problems."

"Educational Therapy offers children and adults with learning disabilities and other learning challenges a wide range of intensive individualized interventions designed to remediate learning problems. Educational therapy demystifies learning problems and stimulates clients' awareness of their strengths so they can use those strengths to best advantage to overcome or compensate for areas of weakness."

What is Educational Advocacy?

A synonym for advocacy is support. Special Education Advocacy may involve conducting evaluations and assessments, making recommendations about educational services, attending eligibility and IEP meetings, and working with a child’s educational/school team on the child’s behalf.

As an Educational Therapist with many years of experience working in the field of Special Education, I can offer Education Advocacy services for you and your child to navigate the complex Special Education process and help create win-win solutions for you, your child, and your child’s educational team.
